🎨 Natural Colours to Try

Give your play dough a little colour using:

  • 🌿 Spirulina β€” for green
  • πŸ’› Turmeric β€” for yellow
  • ❀️ Beet powder β€” for red
  • πŸ’™ Freeze-dried blueberries β€” for blue

Start with about 1/2 teaspoon of your chosen natural colour and adjust as needed to get the shade you like. We find 1 teaspoon often is the sweet spot.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ΒΌ cup salt
  • 1 Tbsp cream of tartar
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Cup Hot water
  • 1 Tbsp natural colouring of your choice

Directions

1. Mix the dry ingredients.
Add the flour, salt, cream of tartar (this is the magic ingredient that makes your dough super soft) and your chosen natural colour to a bowl and mix.

2. Add the water.
Pour in about half of the hot water and mix everything together.

3. Find your perfect consistency.
Too dry? Slowly add more hot water, mixing as you go, until the dough reaches your ideal play dough consistency. Too wet? Add back a little flour.

4. Make it an sensory experience.
Add a drop of your favourite essential oil to make it an olfactory experience. Try lavender for calming, citrus to uplift or thieves blend to ward off germs and sicknesses.
